Samsung Galaxy J2 J200F J200G Root and Install TWRP Tutorial – One more series smartphone Samsung Galaxy J released, after they released the Galaxy J5 marketed to middle and upper segments. Well this time, Samsung released the Galaxy J2 which is the successor Galaxy J1. In this post Smartphone Clinic will provide a tutorial about Root and Install TWRP Recovery on Samsung Galaxy J2 J200F J200G with PC. Make sure that your Samsung Galaxy J2 running on Android Lollipop 5.1.1. If your device is a totally different model, it will not work (may even brick) ! In this tutorial we use Odin on Widows computer. Root your device at your own risk.


  • Make sure your phone battery is charged to 70% or more
  • Make sure you install the Samsung Drives on your PC, if you haven’t already.
  • Backup your device data
  • Download J2 Root File and extract it

  • First you should enabled Developer options
    If Developers Option is hidden, go to Settings > About Phone > Built Number (tap on it for 5-8 times)
  • Enabled USB Debugging and OEM unlock

  • Turn off  your Samsung Galaxy
  • Boot the device into Download Mode as follows: press and hold Volume DownHome and Power buttons together
  • When a warning triangle appears on screen, press Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.


  • open the folder Launch Odin3.exe by click right and run as administrator on computer

  • Connect your phone to the computer. Odin will automatically detect your phone and show the “added message”.

  • In Odin, tap PDA button and find the twrp-SM-J2 Recovery file you downloaded earlier and select it

  • Ensure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options are selected in Odin, while the Re-Partition option is unchecked.
  • click Start in Odin.
  • Once the root installation is done, your phone will reboot and soon a PASS message with a green background appears in the left-most box at the very top of Odin.

  • Your Samsung will reeboot automatically
  • After reboot normally, re-connect it to you PC using the USB cable.
  • Copy the file into the root directory of your device internal storage.
  • Disconnect your phone from PC
  • Turn off your Galaxy J2
  • Boot into “recovery mode”, by pressing and hold Volume Up + Home +Power buttons simultaneously
  • Select ‘Install’ and scroll all the way to the bottom till you see the file.
  • Select the .zip file and swipe the bar to confirm. This will start flashing the .zip file.
  • Once the flashing finished you will see the ‘Reboot System’ option, click it to reboot your device.
  • After reboot, Open menu. If the SuperSU App exist on your Application Menu on your smartphone it means you’ve succesfully rooted your device.
