How to Root HTC One M8 Harmon / Kardon Edition (831c) – A few days ago, HTC and Sprint announced a new variant of the HTC One (M8), the Harman Kardon version; a release which is specially prepared for the audiophile enthusiasts. It became one of Sprint and HTC’s collaboration in creating quality smartphone and cool, special edition version of the HTC One M8 exclusively for Sprint that the package includes a pair of earphones Harman AE-S and improved audio quality in particular.

Harman Kardon edition will bring better audio quality than usual M8, as well as native support for FLAC music file types. But as usual, to see that this good feature should also be enjoyed by a wider audience, a developer at XDA forum with ID baadnewz decided to porting the ability to be enjoyed by users of the HTC One (M8) others. Mod of baadnewz will present two main features of the Harman Kardon: Clari-Fi and LiveStage. In this post Smartphone Clinic will provide a tutorial about how to Root HTC One M8 Harmon / Kardon Edition (831c). In this process we are not going to use the computer / laptop because we will be using an application called King Root App. Root your device at your own risk.


  • Make sure the battery is at least 70%
  • Make sure your phone has Internet access
  • Enable instalation of 3 party Apps on your smartphone, by open Settings > Security > Unknown Sources
  • Download KingRoot4.1 and install it on your device (Link available in this post)

How to Root HTC One M8 Harmon / Kardon Edition (831c):

  • Open KingRoot App
  • Run Kingroot applications you have downloaded and you will see the ROOT button.
  • Press Try To Root to begin the rooting process.

  • Wait for the process of rooting the device. (Make sure your Internet On).

  • Next, you will see a green checkmark, which signifies the rooting process has been completed.

  • Next, reboot your device to make it more stable.
  • You will see KingUser application installed on your device that gives you root access and an indication that you’ve succesfully rooted your device.
